Introduction
Hey y'all! Welcome to the heart and soul of 10:02 Nails. I'm Sydney the founder and creative mind behind this vibrant venture. Today, I'm excited to peel back the curtain and share a bit about who I am, what drives me, and the journey that brought 10:02 to life.
The Beginning
Every story has a beginning, and mine is no different. I started 10:02 with a dream and a passion for beautiful nails. Growing up, I would paint my nails at least three times a week. It helped me escape the world around me for so long. Little did I know that those early influences would help me shape my very own business one day!
The Inspiration
What inspires me, you ask? Well, it's a mix of nature, my family and friends, and places that I have been. These elements come together to form the foundation of 10:02 collections and identity. I absolutely love using Pinterest to create boards for future collections. It helps me set the mood for each season and start the creative process.
Day in the Life
Ever wondered what a typical day looks like for the founder of 10:02? Buckle up! First, I usually start with any open orders. I pride myself in sticking to the processing times I have provided for y'all. Once orders are packed up and dropped off, I start working on collections. This typically looks like designing mood boards, testing out pigments, looking at paint swatches, and brainstorming polish names. When I get to a stopping point, I usually spend the rest of the day either making, editing, or posting content.
Behind the Scenes
Let's get real for a moment. Building 10:02 wasn't all rainbows and sunshine. I faced challenges such as figuring out how I was going to start my business on my own, whether or not I was going to use a private label or create my own polish, and learning how to properly use & paint with gel. But hey, that's the beauty of the journey. Each obstacle shaped 10:02 into what it is today – a testament to resilience and passion. I couldn't be more proud of what 10:02 has become in less than two years.
Fun Facts
Here are a few fun facts about me that you might not know:
I graduated from college with a BS in Psychology and a minor in ASL and Biology.
Before I started my business, I owned at least 300 polishes.
My favorite colors are blue and orange.
When I'm not working, I love to binge-watch Harry Potter movies. Starting from Prisoner of Azkaban (obviously).
If I weren't running 10:02, I'd probably want to work for a company as a creative director or graphic designer!
I listen to all genres of music. whether it's pop, EDM, rap, country, metal, Latin, indie, you name it I probably listen to it.
I love anything cow print & western!
If I see a nice drinking glass, I will buy it. 😂
My favorite place to escape to is the beach.
Creating photoshoots and concepts is my favorite thing about owning my own business. I LOVE taking pictures!
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead, the adventure continues! I've got big plans for 10:02, including as many of you know by now mixing my own lacquers, expanding the organizations that part of the proceeds goes to, appearing at more pop shops/ small business markets, and having 10:02 in small boutiques. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us, and I'm thrilled to have you along for the ride!
